María Blanco is Vice President for Civic Engagement at the California Community Foundation in Los Angeles.
Before joining CCF, she was the executive director of the UC Berkeley Law School’s Chief Justice Earl Warren Institute on Race, Ethnicity & Diversity. She has also served as the Executive Director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the Bay Area and as National Senior Counsel for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund. Among her many awards are the California Lawyer of the Year Award, League of Women Voters Women Who Could be President Award, and an NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund Award.
